Just started using Valium and need some friendly advice :)

Diazepam

I've just started using valium to help me sleep after work (I work night shifts and find it almost impossible to sleep after I finish work) and I know about the dangers of abusing it so I was just after some friendly advice on how to use it properly without getting hooked. I should add that I'm not prescribed it, I buy it online as I'm sure most people do, isn't the internet great hahaha.

I'm taking 15mg in one dose 5 days a week, not for recreational purposes, and im worried that I'll become addicted taking this much, I do see people on here who use 40mg+ a day so I'm not too worried, just after some pointers and help, I may be overreacting but better safe than sorry am I right?

Any info on Valium and how I should take it responsibly would be greatly appreciated guys, there's stuff online but it all varies and I'd rather here it from the horse's mouth as it were, I see a lot of people on here struggling with addiction to valium and I'd just like to know how to avoid that.

If you don't feel comfortable commenting then just shoot me a pm!

Long time lurker, only my second post so be kind my drugged up cherubs:)

Don't combine. Going out for a few? Don't take it that night. Wanna toke one evening? Don't take it. Can't sleep and wanna take another half to get to bed? Danger zone bro. Sleep is great but if you are enjoying the effects before bed then you are already walking a fine line. If you happen to be the kind of person that doesn't really drink, smoke, ect. Then you are probably fine. But approaching any potentially addictive substance with caution is definitely a really intelligent decision and if anyone calls you a pussy then oh so politely tell them to go fuck off. Good call on playing it safe

Thanks man that's sound advice, I'm not too big of a drinker and so far I've only used them to help me sleep so I reckon I'm all good there. I usually smoke a spliff too and watch an episode of something to settle in before I nod off. I have to say I do enjoy the high they give me with the weed so I'll have to keep an eye on that hahaha, I haven't used them on my days off either so I feel like I'm keeping on top of it well.

Good to hear. I will say that if you only need them on work days then it sounds more psychological than anything. Dunno your situation but I definitely have problems with anxiety and it sounds like that. You might be stuck in your situation but if not then I'd highly recommend doing a little soul searching on your current situation and trying to find a job that doesn't make you dread sleeping because you have to wake up in the morning. Life's too short for that bullshit. I may be way off the mark though, if so my bad.

I'm really not sure what it is man, I wouldn't say I enjoy my job but I honestly don't mind it, the people there are great so that makes it alright and I earn extra on top of my hourly rate for working nights which really helps me out. I do need to think about a job change though regardless, working night shift is fucking awful hahaha. Unfortunately though any day work around my area pays a lot less so there's that

I feel ya. I used to work in a warehouse on third shift 10pm-6:30am. We got $15 while the day guys got $14. I was going to school in the mornings too. It was hell but now I'm done with nights and making a lot more at my new career. Didn't realize how bad that was fucking with me until I got off of it. We work to live not live to work. If your job is making you take drugs to deal with it then it's fucked. I will say a few diphenhydramine (benadryl) usually did the trick for me. The sleeping pill variety are just diphenhydramine rebranded so you can buy what's cheaper. Blackout curtains are also a must.

Doing benzos 5 times a week sounds like a bad idea.

Honestly dude try Promethazine. Zero chance of getting hooked and hardly any side effects. It’s an antihistamine. Will make you super drowsy in no time.
