Responsiveness during navigation?

Can somebody please confirm if their Pixel 3a/3a XL is responsive enough for regular usage while using navigation in Google Maps? I currently have a Nokia 6.1 and while it's mostly fine, it completely bogs down if I turn on navigation. I've been looking to upgrade to the Pixel 3a, and just want to confirm if this is not a problem with it. I don't game on my phone, but I multitask with email, notes and navigation quite a lot.
