I heard of Vevs somewhere on AliExpress. I downloaded the app, but the UI looks kinda older? But can I still update firmware and other stuff?

Sort of. Most things connect. If it isn't in the app list for the server you are using, it will connect but don't show up. So no way to set automations. There is a workaround for this too. Some russian guy did us all a favour and made his own version of mi home that allow almost everything om every server. It is called Mi home vevs.

So you don't need to change regions? Does it work with all devices?

There is a solution. Hold down the button (or buttons) on the switch to enable pairing. Then press the button on the gateway 3times. Keep them close while doing it. After pairing the switch will show up in the app and automations will work.

most of mi/aqara sensors works with mi eu hub even if it shows only 7 devices on supported list ;)

You can do that by adding it manually in EU region without using Mi Home. Just quick press hub button 3 times and at the same time set your switch in pairning mode. Then after it is paired to the hub open Mi Home app.

Hey guys,

i have a bit of a problem, i have a house full of european mi bulbs and i also have the european mi gateway. I bought a few weeks ago the mi wireless switches, and sensors (all from china) and they worked perfectly with the gateway and the mi home app.

I also bought from aliexpress the aqara wireless switch (the seller specified in the description that it is compatible with mi gateway v2, he didn't say anything about it being mainland china only). So now i'm frustrated because i can't add the wireless switch to the mi home app.

Is there anyway around this problem ?
