Saving Ole’s career for a potential move as Manchester United Manager

Sir Alex Ferguson doing Sir Alex Ferguson things.

Yeah, he was. Especially the Raiola bit.

It's also fairly evident how much he hates the profession of agents as a whole. He says Tevez's broker/agent was a big reason why Tevez went to City.

Man he was an excellent reader of people.

Poch being a better coach is by the by. The players want Ole, the club as a family unit - stewards, secretaries, cleaners and the like all want Ole- it can’t be overstated how valuable that is.

Mate next year they’re adding the Nutrition Center. The cafeteria lady is going to be more important than the fucking useless physios are, and the cleaners have a chance to clean extra well after a smashing derby success and boost the lads morale. Better not have anybody with below a 12 in Food Preparation or its dodgy lasagna for your boys.

But but but when I play FM the cafeteria lady and the cleaners don't matter

Man I really hope we get top4/EL win with OGS and Woodward won't switch por Poch. It would be just so magical if OGS could be successful here. Sure, Poch is a better coach right now and it may make sense to go for him, but my heart wants OGS to succeed here.

I read an Athletic article in which one of the people over at Cardiff himself came out and said there were underlying problems with the team that could not be simply fixed by a manager.

Cardiff was a poisoned chalice, anyone who took that job would have been managing a team that was going down

Find it hard to take those redditors seriously.

>We all knew.

True and yet some of us continue to use it as a stick to beat him with for the poor results we had earlier this season.

We all knew. It was a terrible job and as a Norwegian I was hoping he'd take a better job at the time

Saved for the next time someone says OGS' only credential in the Prem is to get Cardiff relegated:

>‘Surely he’s not thinking about taking that job – it’s bound to be a nightmare.’

At least Sir Alex Ferguson knew.

It was my first match at Old Trafford. Was magical to me, since Ole is my favorite player so even seeing him on the touchline made me so happy.

Good point. I think the lessons learned at Cardiff have shaped our tactics and I'd imagine Ole is working hard to try and get a more dominant attacking style to his team here at united and not before he has to learn the lesson the hard way.

I remember his first game as Cardiff manager was against United only at OT and his side ended up losing 4-1. Did follow a few games of Cardiff from there on and I think the biggest mistake he did at Cardiff was to try to make them play attacking football irrespective of the opponent, even though he didn't have the players who neither had the quality, nor the ability to sustain the intensity required to play that kind of football throughout the match. And Sir Alex's assessment of Vincent Tan was no wrong - he used to interfere in the recruitment process by signing players without manager's consent.

If SAF says Ole will is great and will be even better I believe. I believe whatever this legend says.

Maybe that was a case with a few signings but I find it hard to believe it was Vincent tans idea to sign 3 sub par Norwegians and 3 United players.

Apparently their owner interfered and made signings without Solskjaer approving them

Yeah that's why I said I'm sure he'd be the first to admit said mistakes, not an attack on ole but he wasn't without fault during his stint at Cardiff.

Managers make mistakes, Ole has made plenty at united since joining also. But its whether you learn from the mistakes and aim not to repeat them.

Last year we got knocked out of the cups playing reserve squads. Too many changes was the problem, while the alkmarr game was one such instance where he mixed a couple of first teamers, players needing minutes from injury and some youth players so it was a better mix of players. slight formation change at half time again showing he can see issue and correct them.

As terrible as a job it was ole made his own mistakes and I'm sure he'd be the first to admit it.

The signings he made were well below premier league quality, even championship quality for that matter.

Found a paragraph about Ole - the manager in Sir Alex's 'Leading'
