Trying to buy a stereoscopic 3D digital video camera (not 180/360)
Hello there good camera people, as in the title I've been trying to get hold of a digital stereo camera for good quality HD (minimum 1080p, but preferably 4K and up) video and stills, to display on 3D TV.
I already knew trying to find a good 3D TV was pretty difficult these days, since mainstream production kinda died an abrupt death some years back, but have found it much harder to source a quality stereo camera that'll do the job for me.
With pretty much every one of these being pre-owned and no longer in production, I'm mainly concerned about the build quality and battery life, especially considering sellers are rarely upfront about the miles theirs has on the clock (the vast majority are like 6+ years old now).
I already own a 3D 180 VR camera, which is great for playback in a headset, but converting to classic non-VR stereo 3D for viewing on a suitable display (like for a group of people to gather round a passive 3D TV and watch together just with cheap polarised spex on) is not as straightforward as I'd hoped it might be, with no official solution out there which does the job as perfectly as a dedicated stereo camera would.
Can anyone help? Secondhand recommendations, reasonable pricepoints, or best of all high-quality products that are still being made that don't cost a bomb, would be very much appreciated, thanks.
P.S. I really love the analogue stereo film cameras of the golden age, and may get one in time, but they're not suitable for these purposes.
I initially wanted to find a true 3D high-speed camera, but standard stereo cameras seem rare enough these days. It's also really sad that the lenticular printing services seem to have died out, so it'd be fantastic to know where I could get hard copies once I manage to get my hands on the type of camera I'm after.
