All hikikomori are NEETs

There seems to be a lot of misconceptions regarding hikikomori as a phenomenon and the actual condition itself one of the common misconceptions i see regarding the topic of hikikomori is that hikikomori can have a job well i hate to burst your bubble but this is simply not true. News websites blog websites and other places on the internet need to stop repeating this misconception because it shows that most people who discuss the topic don't do enough research and have a very poor and inaccurate understanding of the condition. The Japanese government defines hikikomori as a condition in which the affected individuals refuse to leave their parents' house, do not work or go to school and isolate themselves away from society and family in a single room for a period exceeding six months. Having a job defeats the purpose of being a hikikomori which is to withdraw from society and if you're working you're technically still apart of society and not a single documentary that touches on the topic says they have jobs every hikikomori documentary portrays them as NEETs with mental health problems who depend on their parents and never leave their bedrooms because that is exactly what they are. Hikikomori describes a mental health disorder unique to Asian cultures and they are literally on the most extreme levels of the social isolation and NEET spectrum. The most desperate social loners on the face of the earth. And they are also very emotionally sensitive people all hikikomori are NEETs but not all NEETs or even NEETs who are recluses or recluses in general are hikikomori.
