Back to the Future/Butterfly Effect
The entire post-red portion of last nights episode reminded me of Back to the Future and The Butterfly Effect. When he walks through Washington Township it’s a lot like when Marty comes back to Hill Valley. The shots of the billboard and turn into the plant were similar to shots of the development where the McFlys eventually live. As the character introductions unfolded it reminded me of Back to the Future again, but I was getting even stronger Butterfly Effect vibes. This can’t be accidental. I don’t think it means much in the grand scheme of the story, but it’s cool nonetheless.

Bingo. It's like when Marty comes back from the future to 1985 in BTTF2. Turns out Biff/Whiterose has already changed the "present". Hill Valley is a "a nice (crossed out, says bad) place to live".
The headaches remind me of Butterfly Effect for sure. Different worlds.
Interesting though, I haven't seen it in a long time but I felt like that movie went through the stages of grief with the story. Also, wasn't there an alternative ending (or at least fan theory) that the main character goes back to his mom's womb and kills himself?
I also thought there were two endings and upon looking it up I see there are 4 endings! About to go check this out. https://youtu.be/T8zO9rDKmyA
Ya so the director's cut is the womb ending. He ends his own existence.
