so far this is the TLJ defenders defence of the TLJ in the face of how bad the current films look, It doesn't hold much water though, Critics were proven wrong by the reaction to TLJ, a declining intrest In most of starwars products causing Solo to fail and ROS to be projected to be the lowest grossing film in the tillogy from a few months ago.

Many critics liked TLJ because it didn’t feel like a SW movie and made bold decisions.
In its own vacuum I can see how some might feel this way. But as part of a 9 episode series and 2nd to the last it needed to play nice in the sandbox and not break shit, but it did.
