Why are dogs chick-magnets for guys and dick-repellent for girls?
I got my cute, energetic dog back in Austin in 2004. I was in a long-term relationship at the time, so I didn't think about how having a dog would affect future dating prospects.
Long story short, we split and let the dog stay with friends while I got set up in my new place in Seattle and my ex stayed in New York. Neither of our situations immediately allowed for dogs.
I started dating and it was great. There were some let-downs of course, but that's par for the course.
Now fully situated, I brought the dog up here this summer. Now it seems like bringing someone home and having them see the dog is as big of a red flag as having kids. The dog didn't do anything wrong; she doesn't jump on people or hump legs or bite. She's a repsonsibility, sure, but nothing I can't handle. Yet, some guys have told me that my having a dog is a major turnoff. What gives?
