Had a good time seeing it. My theater cheered for for the last part.
Hey, my guy
(Spoiler)
Wedge made it at least, so I’m satisfied no matter what happened

Sure... I understand not everyone can be happy nor agree on all parts. There's no debate that TLJ turned previous plots/thoughts on their head. But it all seemed too much new and not enough baseline story. Either way this movie, probably a lot like RoTJ did for ESB, has made TLJ more than palatable for me now. Which is what several folks like yourself probably said initially when all the hate from the last film flooded the interwebs. In the dying words of Vader, "You were right..."
What on earth are you using “alt-right” to describe people who disliked a movie?

Dude what does anyone's opinion on a Star Wars movie have to do with the alt right? What are you smoking

I really liked the first two but hated this one, so again it’s all subjective at the end of the day.
I understand. I hate that for you, my friend. Did you like TLJ because it was a major shift in SW norms? Or what were your reasons?
They just felt Star Wars-y to me. I can’t really convey it into details, but this one feels so rushed and shoddily put together than all the other 8 movies. I think scheduling and the demands from Disney to get this film out this December has messed it up for my personal taste, like just thinking about it even the transitions between scenes didn’t feel right. Something was off. Pacing felt like I was watching it on crack.
i wouldn't classify them as masterpieces, but there are aspects that i like in those more than the others, like the acting.
it feels more alive, but it could be just something from this era.
I agree. Definitely some controversial stuff but I say it's a great movie.
Did you feel that several retcons were warranted after TLJ? Or did you not have any issues with the previous film?
I wouldn't say exactly retconned but things were backtracked. It doesnt really undo what's been done but gives more background that wasn't there
True. The backgrounds were badly needed. Even stuff like Leia's space travel make more sense now.
