Is it worth coming back?

Bought the game when it released and despite its major flaws I really enjoyed its casual and simple gameplay. Got bored around the 50 hour mark and quit cause I couldnt find any matches and classes where unbalanced as fuck.

A couple times I reinstalled the game wanting to give it a second chance, after seeing how much it had improved since release. Only to try to find a match, and get empty lobbies 8/10 times.

So, since everyone is in a "Star Wars mood" I yet again want to dive into the game. What I want to know is, are there people still playing? Has the balance/matchmaking been tuned? I'm from South America by the way, so a smaller player base is the norm, but come on, the game has been dead pretty much since release here.

TL;DR: Has anything worthwhile changed? Highlights? How's the player count?
