Mini Theory: Ela used to be part of NightHaven.

Discussion

With all the hype surrounding this season and it’s current NightHaven operators and the recent cosmetics we got, I decided to go back to the operator bios and read up on them again. Obviously the legacy ops bios have been updated as of Ember Rise but the rest remain unchanged as far as I’ve noticed. Anyway, once I got to reading Ela’s bio again I noticed near the beginning it mentions she was once part of a small Private Military Corporation (PMC) before she went off to join GROM.

It might be a stretch but it could be possible that Ela was once part of NightHaven when it was a relatively new organization. I don’t know what this could really entail lore wise but it’s interesting to think about which members of Rainbow might be more accepting of these new ops then others. Obviously Harry content with them but Ash is against it, so the dynamic is already split with two characters. It could be possibly more in depth if the characters that have gotten these cosmetics (Jackal, Mute, Fuze, IQ, Alibi, and Rook) are ok with NightHaven stepping in as well.

Idk, just a little something I thought was interesting. What do you all think?

The lore of this game has always fascinated me as it’s more in depth then what you would expect out of a first person shooter, so with that said it excites me of the possibilities of what story (or stories) they might be trying to tell us from this point onward.

Now what would really be cool is the ops that have nighthaven gear decide to defect and join nighthaven. What a lit LTM that would be.

I don’t know if a full on defection would happen but rather there be two opposing parties involved with every decision the team makes from this point onward. Either way it’s interesting that there is possibly going to be some sort of division happening between the original members and possibly whoever joins Rainbow in the future.

Thank you! I’m actually surprised I caught that. I think the only reason I bothered checking was because of the animation they released to promote the cosmetics. With Harry and Ash talking about being PMC and whatnot I thought back and said, “Isn’t there at least one operator that used to be in a PMC that joined Rainbow?”, and sure enough Ela was spot on. There might be others but the point was that NightHaven has potentially always been connected to Rainbow in one way or another.

So it was basically long overdue for somebody to join rainbow.

I guess now we can somehow trace all the funding rainbow gets to Nighthaven.

Yes. While the worlds governments and such are the ones that primary funded Rainbow, NightHaven have been responsible for giving opportunities to people like Ela and making them stand out in their field enough to join the world’s most elite CTU in existence. God Year 5 is gonna be a hell of a ride!

Oh hell yeah! Finally, a long and interconnected story!

I do think we'll get some more stuff in the bio, specifically, for ops that joined after Harry took over. It's not just cultural differences, it's that he and Kali like to get the job done. So it's possible that somebody like nomad or mav had some ties with NH. It's even possible that NH was the group that discovered Mav's location! Just a speculation though.
