Rule 5: AI Norway colonized Canada, then AI Canada gained independence, and is now a kingdom.
Why is it Canada though? Did they change from Vinland after getting independence?
IIRC the first colony to break free in a colonial region gets a decision to change to form the country (e.g. canada, US, brazil) and get new ideas etc.
Good to know...
From the wiki: "Canada can be formed by any former colonial nation with its capital in ‘Colonial Canada’ colonial region."
It’s beautiful
This always happens to me. The US will form in like 1520 and be super weak while cock blocking European colonization
chef’s kiss
Wow I’ve never seen Canada
It's nice. I suggest you go in early summer.
Well c'mon up then!
I had this happen in one of my spain games, I was making so much I just subsidized them to the point where they actually went to war and took greenland and iceland off of norway and colonised all of North America and then the game ended with canada as the second greatest power in the world after my colonial holdings in the new world became free
I once had Canada, declare war on an African Minor and take some land. And then declare War on Sweden, Win and take Stockholm.

You spelled Vinland wrong.
They changed the name.
It was a joke.
I know, and it was a good one.
Noatter what image I look at, there is always CRETE
Ha! The real Crete belongs to me in this save.
Norway colonized Canada in my game too, is that common nowadays?
Pretty common since they have a colonist in their national ideas and they control Iceland from the beginning of the game.
The invention of maple syrup circa 1668
Ô Canada
That is literally Québec borders!
Yeah, so I think once I establish my colonial nation up there, I'll just call it Ontario.
Tabarnak.
Kind of not. I dont wanna sound like a know it all but if you are talking about todays borders, this land includes Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, and some other area that is not Quebec's.

Okay? What's special here?
It has some really nice borders as well.
It does! I'm so happy to see it, I feel like leaving it alone.
Canada would never do anything but be your friend. I say live long be and prosperous.
Subsidize it, let it conquer the new world!
