Audio and ds218play questions

Hi I love audio and want to store/backup my files using raid 1. I got a lot of flac and dsd files which i want to store on my soon to be new pal the ds218play. I want to be able to just read the files from the nas into my desktop application foobar2000, which then sends it to my dac or receiver.

In this situation will i be able to read multiple audio files like this on multiple pc/laptops? Also, is the pc the one decoding the files since i just read the files using foobar, or will the nas take this task and thus using its own audio chip?

Any handy tips for this use, maybe another model or something else?

Thanks in advance!
