Police cars, caution tape, and white blanket on Greenwich / Rector

Last night (approx 8pm) I was walking down on Greenwich street (near rector st) and there were a number of police cars and caution tape. In the middle was what looked like a body with a white blanket over it and some blood. It was weird because there were no ambulances and nobody seemed to be moving quickly.

Anybody know what happened here? Anyone else see it?
