Running Pre-OP
Hey everyone.
Tldr at the end :)
I'm not really a cardio guy, or rather haven't been but would like to give it a try. My workouts have been either bodyweight exercises and some dumbbell stuff at home where I dont wear a binder or going to a bouldering gym where you dont continually breathe hard. Running is a whole nother thing. I haven't run for years, basically since having come out to myself. Until today, that is. The run was okay, went actually better than I expected.
But binding obviously was a problem. I wore a binder one size up that I'd ordered wrong a bit ago so breathing was okay but I was sweating like crazy. Now, that's a problem in summer, because, duh, but in winter I imagine it's not so good either for longer runs because of the risk of getting a cold due to the wet layer on your skin.
Technically, not binding wouldnt look to bad to others because my chest isnt that big (still noticably 'not normal', but I could probably get away with it) but I absolutely cannot imagine going outside without a binder.
** TLDR: So, for anyone who runs, or does very straining exercises with other people around and is pre-op: what's your strategy? Any experiences and advice is helpful.**
