New Build Trouble: Pixelation and Artifacting on Display followed by Black Screen
I built a PC recently for a friend. Everything worked fine for a while but after testing for a bit the screen filled with "checkerboard" like artifacts. I was greeted with a BSOD screen. The error code pointed to an AMD display driver but I have all appropriate radeon drivers installed. After rebooting again it worked fine for a while but now sometimes when starting up, the screen freaks out again and the artifacting returns. Shortly after the screen will just go black, however, the PC stays on. The only way to get it unstuck is to reset it with the power button or PSU switch.
Note that it only happens within the first minute or two when starting up. Many times IMMEDIATELY on the lock screen.
I read that high voltage or OC'ing the CPU or GPU can cause this but I actually underclocked the CPU for temps and stability (As it will just be for VERY light esports type games). I tried restoring all BIOS settings but it defaults the Ryzen 5 1500X to 3.6 GHz with 1.5 on the voltage. That seems very high to me but I don't know much about OC'ing or voltage. Might be completely unrelated to the problem.
Oh and here's the pc part picker list
This is driving me crazy. I'm gonna call it a night and troubleshoot some more tomorrow. Will probably try swapping GPU's and reinstall windows. It's gotta be the GPU or driver related right??
Thanks in advance to any replies.
