Anyone have success accessing a "Space Monkey" drive now that the service is defunct?
TLDR: Back in 2013/2014 I did the Kickstarter for the Space Monkey. Over the years I've put a lot of family videos and the like on the drive and somewhat forget that it was humming along in my basement.
Evidently they were bought by Vivint back in 2016/2017 and Vivint has discontinued the service and shut down all the ways to get to your data.
So now I suspect the only way to get to the data stored on it is via a bit of hacking in to it. All indications point to it being some sort of linux based device with encryption. Wondering if anyone in the data hoarding community here has any experience with the Space Monkey and getting in to the files.
I tried contacting Vivint but after going around in circles they basically said I'm SOL.
Since this was a set and forget "lifetime license" device I did exactly that and now trying to figure out a next course of action.
