Skin irritation and no idea how to fix
NSFW marked for genetalia talk!
I've had terribly sensitive skin for a long time, and it makes my skin itch all over. I take testosterone weekly for HRT, though currently I haven't taken it in 4 weeks (will continue HRT this coming week). I noticed my skin seemed to be more sensitive when I started my HRT than it already was before, especially my lower region. I also grew a lot of coarser, thicker hair, but ingrowns don't seem to be the problem. I deal with ingrowns and acne daily, but sometimes I find spots on my body and on ky lower region that I can't say are either. They look like whiteheads but pus doesn't escape when I squeeze them, and skin gets stripped easily. My pores are very large, and seem to be the largest on the skin in my lower region. It feels as if it's swollen, and it itches constantly. I also have a habit of picking at my skin as well because of the itching. I've tried using coconut oil to soothe, as well as a safe lotion (like Cetaphil). I've changed my bar and laundry soaps to fragrance free and dye free, and even tried wearing loose fitting clothing. I've aired out my skin, applied heat and cold to see if my pores would react, but nothing. I'm hoping to find a dermatologist at some point, but it's starting to affect my life so negatively that I can't even function throughout the day without feeling the need to scratch my skin off. I'd like some help to know if I should go to a derm or even a gyno immediately, or if this could be fixed with something over the counter.
