You discover the ability to self induce comas. You can sleep for a predetermined amount of time, and awake only to an "internal clock", which only you control. You are also in a perpetual state of unconsciousness, and your "self" can never die. A "soul" is your conscious mind, which is attached to your body and can move around the body, but is not itself attached, nor is it a part of the physical body. That soul can be thought of as a "soul", but we'll get to the difference later.

You are able to move between the three states of consciousness at will, and the only way to regain a new state is to die. When you die, you are resurrected in a new body. You can die from any number of things - natural causes, accidents, poisons, etc. You can also die from being crushed, decapitated, impaled through the heart, hit by a car, starved to death, poisoned, or taken by another person, or even die in your sleep. When you die, you leave behind one-half of your "soul". The other half can be found in the grave of this "soul". If you are buried, you are returned to this state. If you are cremated, the body is sent to the grave. If you are buried, you are left with the grave. If you are cremated, the ashes are scattered.

The reason for this is that in the physical world, there is only one thing you can control: time. Everything else you can not control. The only thing you can change is its speed, so when you die, you can either go back to the grave, or take control of your own body again. Your "soul" is trapped in the physical world, and this is why people are unable to die. The "soul" is the "force" behind the body, and the physical body is what we call "life".

If you can control your speed, you can move more quickly through a dream state, and you can also move more quickly through the physical world. You can also move more quickly through the grave, so there is a way to go back and forth between the three states without going into the grave.

The "souls" of all living creatures are of the same "soul" type. Each "soul" is the same in every way, and the "soul" of a creature's grave is essentially the same thing as the "soul" of the creature's body.
