Casting from browser pausing on lid close?

After either this last update or the one before (can't remember), if I cast from my Chromebook browser window to the Chromecast to watch my show and close the lid it started pausing it. It used to not. Was this an intentional change? Has anyone else recently been having problems with it pausing browser casting on lid close?
