Games crashing when I enable XMP.

Hello, I’ve recently just built my pc and I’ve updated my bios to the latest version. My ram is supposed to be running at 3200mhz but every time I enable XMP it crashes my games. I’m currently running it at 2100mhz and it runs fine. Do I have to manually set it? I’m very new so overclocking is not in my territory.
