Random ancient coins

So I was just wondering, I logged onto Sea of Thieves just now and checked my ancient coin balance to see that I got 250 extra coins as of last time I played, and I didn’t find an ancient skeleton nor did I buy any coins. I’m definitely not complaining, but where in the world did they come from?
