PC randomly freezes and stutters

Tech Support

I have had the computer for about 6 months but have only had this issue in the past couple months (I am not sure what has changed).

My new 3rd gen Ryzen build has random/intermittent stutters and freezes. The problem happens during any games and sometimes even simply at desktop when no taxing tasks are running (the problem is happening even as I type this up in the browser) . For example when playing Overwatch the game will be running completely smoothly at ~300 FPS and then out of nowhere the mouse freezes up (not a new mouse), the game either completely freezes or stutters looking like a slideshow. When I have monitored a framerate graph with MSI afterburner there is no change in framerate or frametime indicating the game was still running at a smooth FPS.

The Build:

CPU: Ryzen 3900x MOBO: Gigabyte x570 Aourus Master RAM: G. 16 gb Skills Ripjaw V @ XMP profile 3600 MHz GPU(s): 2x GTX 1080 in SLI (have tried disabling SLI) PSU: Corsair RM850x Storage: 1 tb NVME ssd (runs Windows and most games) and a few mass storage HDDs OS: Windows 10 Pro version 1909 (have tried other builds as well)

Things I have tried (that have not worked):

Complete fresh Windows 10 Install Disabling SLI Disabling GSYNC Running TronScript Disabling all programs other than a game Changing the primary SSD that Windows 10 is installed on (I upgraded to a new drive because I thought this may have been a faulty drive) Disabling XMP and running at stock 2133 MHz ram speed]

I really appreciate your help! This issue has been going on for a couple months and nothing I have come across has really resolved anything.
