Local Play Spec Ops

Why can we STILL not play Spec ops locally on split screen?? This is ridiculous! My family only bought their on copy so that they could play spec ops together just like in the good old days with MW2. I saw a thread back in october stating this was a day 1 patch fix and still nothing... thoughts?
