I’ll be something else then like I already am

Yeah thats the point of being an assassin

Their kits also tend to overuse deflect and parry mechanics which are extra risky considering their low health pool doesn’t leave room for error

Shaman is fantastic. But you’re right on all other counts. Reflex guard is part of the problem, but not the whole thing. Assassins have lower health than other heroes and that isn’t really compensated for most of them with strengths in other areas. The better assassins have something to compensate them: gladiator gets heaps of stamina, Zerk gets his feint hyper armor, and shaman has her wide range of options and the bite.

Reflex guard is definitely an issue I don’t know about anyone else but with static guard heroes I have no issues blocking and parrying attacks but with reflex guard heroes I find blocking much harder. It seems attacks go through the guard more often then not and certain things like fast chain attacks seem impossible to block as assassins. Might just be a mental thing as I rarely use assassins but it just seems way harder to do normal things with them

While reflex guard is a problem the only weak assasin is orochi because he effectively sucks. nuxia,pk and shinobi are mid tier and if anything shaman is top tier

Assassins like shaman are pretty good at ganking, while some like Orochi or PK can just be externally blocked.

If you have the Stealth feat as PK, it can help you be sneaky and land a sprinting GB and hopefully set up a high damage combo, but sometimes I question myself if I should equip Stealth, because Bounty Hunter is also really good.

I think that’s a case of Correlation not Causation

The assassins like PK,Roach nerfed shinobi (because pre nerf Shinobi was a bit busted) and Glad just don’t have the best kits overall rather than assassins just being flawed

Examples being pre nerf Shinobi,Shaman and Berserker are/were all considering pretty goodn

I think it’s because a lot of them lack the core fundamentals of what makes a good kit and have a bigger reliance on deflecting and turtling
But they lack the health pool and the guard on top of that

Reflex guard has little to do why those assassins are low tier

You don't have to take my word for it man, ubi releases win rates at the end of each year. Take a look.

Second to last in duels, 5th to last in dom, third to last in breach.

The only thing good about her is the bleed soft feint which raider already does better

Then you clearly don't know how to play her

Peacekeeper, Gladiator, Shaman and Berserker are fucking great but alright

tbh pk isnt so garbage anymore and has had players use her to win competitive dominion matches by people like Semtyx. She could use some touch ups though. Shaman is good and Nuxia is OK and sorta usable even though her traps are mostly used defensively instead of the way they were designed to be used.

Look at my flair, dickshit. Also assassin main isn't a thing

Looks like i touched a nerve. Assassin main?

Honour doesn't exist. Go play a different game if you're gonna spout that shit

I mean, I try to act with a bit more "honor" when fighting, such as not ledging in duels and brawls because I feel it's more fun that way. Letting the last person in dom 1v1 instead of just having everyone jump them. Stuff like that.

I don't try to force it on others (although there's always a little sting) because like I said, I play that way because it's fun for me.

Who actually follows a made up Honor code in this game?

I think this sub is mostly in agreement that Nuxia, Peacekeeper, Orochi, Shinobi, and arguably Shaman are in a bad place. Maybe it’s just Assassins. Maybe it’s time to get rid of Reflex Guard. I know I personally avoid playing Assassins aside from Gladiator and Berserker.

Have you gentlemen noticed that Assassins tend to be low on Tier lists?
