Where are the bell ringers?

I live in Western Mass, close to the Holyoke Mall, and during all of my Christmas shopping outings I have yet to see a Salvation Army bell ringer. Not at the mall, not at any of the nearby shopping plazas, no where.

Is it just coincidence, or have they not been out this year?
