Terrific! Are folks allowed to have .22 rifles in their homes in Australia? I know the laws there are quite strict.

Yes, you can keep any firearm in your home provided you have the license for it.
It's a common misconception that guns are virtually outlawed here - although there is a lot of red tape, especially when it comes to semi autos. Infact firearm ownership is increasing like crazy here.

Have to have genuine reason, have to get category (letter) license for different types of guns (handguns, rimfire singleshot, rimfire semiauto capacity <5, centerfire semiauto, etc, etc) and numerous other things. Destroying lifestock isn’t a genuine reason to own a semiauto pistol/pistol.

22lr is a blast once you stretch it to 125 yards. You get to deal with arc and wind and all that shit but it makes tagging the center of a target so damn rewarding.
Keep shooting buddy. It’s a great way to blow off some steam.

Nope, guns are pretty easy to own here provided you have a license and own a gun safe.
Though Pre-1996 it was much more laid back.

This was with a scoped .22lr at 12 metres so I'm not exactly a navy seal here. But hey it was fun as hell.
