Save K95 software profile as onboard profile?

Help

Corsair K95 RGB Platinum
Firmware version 3.21.28
iCUE version 3.23.66

I put together a few profiles that took a lot of fiddling to get just right, and only now realize that there's no easy way to apply the same settings to an onboard profile. I would like to have access to my profiles when iCUE is unavailable, not just the generic spiral/rain/wave set.

Yes, I can go through and carefully reapply custom effects to perfectly match what I did already, but I shouldn't have to. What happens when I want a new profile later, or make some minor color corrections? It's just more and more time spent doing something twice when it should be possible to push a couple buttons and have iCUE do it for me.

Import/Export doesn't do what I want, selecting a software profile hides the Onboard Profiles menu entirely, and I've out of ideas.

^(Side question, maybe related, maybe not: Pressing the + on Profiles only creates a software profile. I see no option for an onboard profile. If I were to delete all existing onboard profiles [K95P HW1, etc] how would I recover them?)

Only certain lighting functions can be used in hardware profiles. I spent a long time getting my desktop profile the way I like it, but all I can do when my lock screen is on and a hardware profile is in use is very limited. Is an unfortunate product limitation.

I am well aware of the limitations of hardware profiles.

For a software profile with lighting that does not exceed those limits, and no other important settings (so I wouldn't notice/care if some were lost, as they are already defaults), what should interfere with a conversion?
