Far from the earliest uses of Animal-Assisted Therapy.
This site claims it goes as far back as the Ancient Greeks ~ 600 B.C.E
Wikipedia though only states the earliest being the 18th century
Brilliant
They're tiny, but not tiny units

Here we go again, bringing up my family.
As someone whos had many baby ducks: this 100% works. Especially when they bob their head under water to clean themselves. Super cute stuff right there.
Why is this here
That is super sweet. That little girl looks like she’s been thru some shit.
Hopefully she went on to make a full recovery and is still alive. She would be in her late 60’s so completely plausible.
Polio is some serious shit. Glad we have a vaccine for it now!
Just awful. I was born in 1958 and went to HS with a kid who was born in France, never got the vaccine, and got Polio. His legs were paralyzed but he managed to get around on crutches. It was sad.
