Question about Virpil WARBRD base with J-Pein mounts

I was just wondering if the base can be mounted to the same plate as the TM Warthog base on the J-Pein mounts and if it was a good fit, i.e. no stick knocking the mounts.

Apologies if this has already been posted but it appears not a lot of people have the J-Pein mounts

Probably best to ask the manufacturer (http://peingear.com/forum). This image taken from their product page on Amazon suggests that Virpil bases have to be attached using the "bar type" mount shown at the top rather than the "plate type" mount used for the Warthog... and the drawing of the plate doesn't look like it has the proper holes for the Virpil bases. However, on another image taken from the same page, the plate is shown with a different set of pre-drilled holes in it. Maybe they've added support for Virpil bases and didn't bother updating the instructions?

Yes, it definitely can. I owned the older JPEIN mounts, and now I have the upgraded ones. They are a little bit of work to initially assemble, but they are VERY versatile and adaptable. I’ve mounted Warbird bases (with constellation delta, t50 CM2, TM Warthog & FA18 grips), a TM T16000, and my Virpil T50 CM2 v.3 throttle on them.

They are very solid, and look sharp too. You can easily remove them because they use the “lever style” clamp system (the upgraded ones; the older version is a tightening knob that takes longer). Aside from the plate for gimbal base mounting, they also come with brackets for throttles, as well as a bracket for MFD’s.

If you are looking (they are currently out of stock at Amazon), I have 2 upgraded JPEIN mounts (newest version) that I am trying to sell (in addition to 2 Warbird bases, a constellation delta grip, a t50 CM2 grip, and a Thrustmaster T16000 grip). I’m upgrading to a custom system that ties into a full sim pit.

You can’t go wrong with them. They are extremely versatile and adjustable. Feel free to ask me any other questions you might have about them.

Cheers man!

I own the older JPEIN mounts myself and I'm not looking to upgrade, I've only had them about a year and they're doing the job fine so I was wondering if the WarBrd would fit on them. I suppose it will go on the rail mounts if the base plate doesn't have the right holes.

It will fit directly with n the base plate. There are holes that line up perfectly.

Here is a photo of the Warthog mounted on the older JPein Mount.

Like I said, they can mount pretty much everything. Their versatility is the best thing about them. I’m surprised that they aren’t more popular, because they are incredibly flexible (in terms of what you can mount on them), easier to acquire (almost always available on Amazon), and competitively priced.

Other companies play all sorts of games with selling different adapters for an extra $30 or so, and 80% of the time you can’t even buy them. The JPeins come ready to mount anything, right out of the box. No special “plates adapters” sold separately.
