Help! I’m new here and I don’t know where else to get advice! Does anyone know of an adaptor that would fit my 1995 Subaru liberty that would connect to an ISO unit so I could put in my new head unit? I’ve got an adaptor for the head unit but couldn’t find one for my car.

Gonna assume it's the factory amplified version, a harness doesn't seem to exist. You may have splice a few inches behind the connector

And that plug goes into your factory head unit??

That is a 16 pin ATX power supply plug. I've only ever seen them on old ass Dell computers. It is so oddball that nobody even makes the Male socket in an inline version where you could make your own adapter, it is only available in PCB mount.

Edit: I just looked closer at that pic.. Those wires coming out of that are aftermarket color code. Im betting somebody hacked up the harness and spliced that in for some ungodly reason. What does the harness behind it look like behind the dash?

Subaru used the same radio harness for nearly 20 years, the one he has is absolutely not factory. You can buy repair kits to convert it back to original, though.

Yeah that's why I'm wondering what the hell it plugs into.

Not even a Molex 39012161 (panel mount ears) or 469931611 (no panel ears, glow wire rated)?

Yeah it goes into my radio that seems pretty factory. Its super old and it looks like the factory ones. It’s my first car and idk wtf is the previous owner did but obviously something. Would I be able to take it in to an auto electrician and get them to hardwire a head unit into the existing wires?

Pics of the old radio?

You might be able to find a per-wire adapter, like a banana plug, that would fit in there and make a good contact instead of splicing directly to the factory wires
