Do people masturbate with vacuum cleaners?

I was talking with a friend yesterday and one of the random subjects was about people (men) in movies often getting caught having sex with vacuum cleaners (we just saw a movie where this happened).

Im sure it happens but what we were confused about was that in movies its played off as if this is something that everybody does and knows about. Although I do know about it, its only because of movies.

Does anybody do this? (of course im not being judgemental here, I just dont know anybody who does)
