So when I would play, rarely would I ever have to stop the defuser when playing. Most of my matches would end in squad wipes or another team mate would defuse. Today I embarrassed myself because I managed to clutch a 1v4 but ran around sites looking for the defuser and for the life of me couldn't find it. How close can you plant to a site and does the beeping from one of the sites indicate where the defuser is?

The diffuser can be planted on pretty much any horizontal surface in each room with a bomb. The bomb room is usually defined with doorways or large openings. If the rooms name changes, go back, you have left the room. Your best bet is to run around and check all the default plant locations and scan the rooms as quick as you can as if you even look over it, the yellow indicator will highlight its location. I found when i was running 60FOV it was alot easier to miss it.

All good, you will find as you attack more, you will work out the best spots to plant (refered to as default) these places are usually easily covered by your teammates, sheltered, or close to an external wall/window. 80% of the time this is where the diffuser will be
Normally in the same room can be up on things like tables and washing machines
Beeping does not indicate which bomb is being defused. Both bombs beep as soon as the defuser goes down. As for defuser position, I'm pretty sure that in 95% of the cases it has to be in the same room as the bomb. So from the bomb's position to the doorways basically.
So the defuser can be planted anywhere in the room, it doesnt have to be so many "feet" away from the bomb itself?
No specific distance requirement, as long as it's in the room. If you ever plant the defuser though, make sure it's not on a hatch. If anyone breaks the hatch after it's planted the defuser will fall and you automatically lose the round. Just so you know :)
