What's the best way to protect/strengthen our new dining room table top?
My wife and I bought some new furniture for our house this summer. It's not the highest quality stuff, but it certainly wasn't cheap. We use our dining room table extensively and really like the dark finish. Already we've noticed some small chips and dents in the finish on the top and I'd like to put some protection on it. Glass or mats or a table cloth is out of the question, because we really like the look and feel of wood.
One thing I've run across is: MirrorCoat® Bar/Tabletop Finish
Should I use epoxy or just several coats of poly? We'd like it to be resistant to water, denting, etc., but it doesn't have to be 100% mirror finish/perfect either.
