Need Help with transportation in Phoenix/Glendale. Going to National Championship on Jan. 10

I will be flying to your fair city and will be staying near the SkyHarbor Airport. Could you please tell me the best way to get to the University of Phoenix Stadium? As far as I know there is no shuttle service offered by either the City of Glendale or the Bowl Game itself. Should I take the light rail to Montebello Station and then get on the 60 which goes down Bethany Home Road?

EDIT: By the way, I'll be there for about five days (maybe four not including the bowl game day) what sights should a newcomer see in and around town? I think I'm going to go walk around ASU's campus and maybe old town scottsdale? anybody got any suggestions?
