In western countries with legalized prostitution, and even without legalized prostitution, human trafficking is a huge source of women for that service. Merely legalizing and regulating the practice only opens up another avenue by which women can be victimized.
Everyone talks up the safety of brothel workers from assault and the benefits of regular STD checks; no one seems to bring up the fact that these women are often from poor countries and in the "employment" of people who lied to get them to travel to the host country, took their passports, and coerced them into prostitution.
Almost like it's an inherently exploitative industry.

Its a profession like any other , I worl with materials and equipment that could kill me everyday of my life , with the proper oversite and regulations you can mitigate risks. As the sex industry currently stands in Canada there are no safey nets for the people that work in it. Las Vegad and Amsterdam seem to have had great success with regulation of the sex trade.
