Reminder: Giving or asking for exam content is not allowed. Asking what should I study is ok.

That said, just be smart about what you say and how you say it...

BAD: What was on your exam?

GOOD: What do you suggest I focus my studying on?

-as a note to this, don't single out recent test takers because of the implication. "THOSE WHO RECENTLY SAT FOR REG, WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMEND I STUDY" Just scrap that first part, you don't need it.

BAD: My exam had a few questions about 1040 dependent income

GOOD: I would focus your studying on individual taxation, especially rules on dependents.

Again, as a rule, if you are suggesting what to study with the support being you just took your exam, just leave that part out. Telling someone what to study just because is fine.

Wordsmith your posts to fit this rule.

EDIT: Posts/comments like...

Becker was great, it talked about ____, and that shit was on the exam!

Just leave out the last part. if you are talking about something specific and use the words "ON THE EXAM" from experience, its no good. Make it sound like conjecture. "I have heard these could be on the exam... hell anything could be on the exam!"

BAD: I just sat for aud last week. I wish I studied X more.

Again... the implication. Just frame it differently.

GOOD: You should study X, my study material is really pushing it.

PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY - LEARNING TO COVER YOUR ASS IS A USEFUL SKILL. PRACTICE IT HERE.

People outright asking "What was on your exam" or explicitly stating "I had X question on my exam" are going to start getting banned. Its the same in other cpa forums so I don't think I am being a hardass here.
