Congrats !
It"s yet to happen for me. Any advice to share?
No great advice other than just going running consistently. I’m a big proponent of the NRC training plans. I’ve been going 3-4 days a week for ages now and I’ve noticed recently how my stamina and lung capacity has sneakily improved without me realising. Like I’ll be running at a faster pace than I meant to and think “oh shit there’s no way I’ll be able to keep this up” and then I focus on my breathing and realise I’m actually not tired, I can handle the pace and I can keep going.
Yup! That's exactely what got me sub 30!
Nice! Congratulations man! 25min for a 5k is also my target for a while now. So far I’m down to 28min
Thanks! If you’re like me you’ll make incremental improvements and then suddenly a (relatively) big leap. My PB was 28ish minutes for ages and then one day did 25ish, then I was stuck there for a while until today.
Great! Looking forward to it
You could train with a jump rope on your off days to work on your stamina and endurance. I jump rope for about 30mins to warm up before my run daily
Oh yeah I forgot the cross training stuff I do. Yoga a couple of times a week and some kettlebell lower body and core workouts.
This has been a goal of mine for a while too! Congrats! Keep killing it!
Good stuff!! Get sub 24 next!!
Hey that’s funny I also beat my PR yesterday at 25:42 it was te hardest workout I’ve ever done :D https://i.imgur.com/ivVaHMc.jpg
