Very basic question: Will a Windows Media File play on a Mac or iPad?

I can't make it home for Christmas and made a little movie of me opening presents, I don't have any video editing software other than just basic Windows Movie Maker however my parents have an apple comp and an iPad. I'm not sure how to save the movie file as something other than a WMF. Will this play? Thanks reddit!
