Yeah, but we got <checks baseball reference>... Sean Newcomb.
He’ll probably have a hall of career, so it’s like pretty even. Erick Aybar was just gravy.... And chicken wings.
I think the jury is still out on the trade. Because if Sean goes back in the rotation and blossoms there, cha-ching!
it will never be a good trade. be real. not even taking into account simmons was very likable player/guy
Andrelton is a free agent after this year, while Newcomb is under control through 2023. He doesn't have to be at Andrelton's level of value to be a better option when you consider the timing of our competitive window. We would have thrown 2-3 years of Andrelton in the trash if we had kept him.

I don’t think anyone is arguing against trading Andrelton if the Braves were not intending to offer him an extension. The issue here is the value in return. Braves traded AS in 2015, before the explosion of all these elite SS in the game now; Lindor, Story, Turner, Correa, Seager, Gleyber. They should’ve landed a heck of a lot more than Newcomb and Aybar.
Probably never a good trade. But maybe one where it evens out a little better. I'm still looking for that to happen.
The last line hits hard.
Miss you, Simba.
we had him.....
we had him
sigh
😭😩
Foolish Baseball is the shit!
Anyone else remember Simmons rookie year where he stole 2nd... while the pitcher still had the ball? It was sandlot lvl smooth.
You have a link to that? I would love to see it but my google skills failed me.
nope, been looking for years, even posted on here a couple times asking to no avail. I'm pretty sure it was a home game, late spring early summer, joe & skip went on and on about it.

This is still my least favorite trade in Braves history.
