Can you help me find some info on some antique pottery for my Grandma?

She found a couple of vases at a small town thrift store. She was told they were hand made in the late 50's. She asked me to research the markings on the bottom, but I haven't found anything that's too useful on Google. Does anyone here know about antique pottery?
