Pc not console but something like that may have happened

If this was on console it was probably a cloud save that overwrote it maybe?

Early on into iceborne I lost a save at mr 3 which only costed me a few weapons like a bone great sword and a few quests. Today I booted up the game and found that my mr 65 save was replaced by the same mr 3 save I lost a week ago. I did not hard save my data and have booted it up many times in between the time I lost my save and today. Does anyone know what happened? Is there any way I can fix this?
