The new PTC and stutters

So, surprisingly to me, the new ptc update has solved the stutter issue I had that made me revert back to 1.43. While there's no guarantee it will work the same way for you, I think it's pretty likely.

I tried several games and performance was better in general across all of them. So, if you've been holding out with 1.43 hoping for an update that fixes things, I think it's worth a shot. At worst, you can revert back again. Hopefully, like me, it will solve your issue and provide better performance in general.

Just a quick adendum here. i was having issues with everything. The more "intensive" the game the larger the stuttering issue thee would be.

Thankfully and surprisingly it's been resolved completely for me with everything.

I've yet to find a game that I'm not getting better perfomance in compared to even pre v12.

My specs

i7 7700k @4.8ghz 32gb DDR4 @ 3200 1070ti @ whatever Windows 10 1909 Nvidia Driver 441.87

If there's a game you were having issues with that isn't Agard's Wrath, chances are I can test it and report back.

Will try the update later today, glad it has sorted your stuttering.

Do you think this will sort the horrendous performance in boneworks? Not sure if that is linked to this

I fired up boneworks just now. There is a little bit of jitter that could be due to my SS settings in oculus tray tool or something, but it's a lot better than how it was just using it with the old 1.43 driver/firmware combo. Overall it's a lot smoother and I was getting better performance.

(i was at "the streets" and fucking with a pallet jack etc.)

It has for me, and it's even an improvement over the 1.43 driver/firmware that people reverted back to. I wish I'd been able to play the earlier levels like this and no I'm not an oculus shill.

Why would you be surprised that the new PTC update solved the issue? Did you think the stutter was now a permanent feature? ie something was permanently broken in the SDK? Of course they were going to get to the bottom of the issue and fix it, it was just a matter of when.

Because it's been broken for over a month and there have been several updates to the PTC which haven't fixed anything for anyone. Not sure how things worked for you but that's how they were/are for a lot of people. So, yeah it's a nice surprise that they've finally figured out the issue.
