trent jones golf trail Muscle Shoals

my buddies and I are going to The Shoals and playing both courses on Feb. 8 and 9. does anyone have any idea on how crowded it may be, and also what the course conditions are this time of year. Also any tips on where to eat would be greatly appreciated. we plan on getting an Airbnb but are holding off on booking it, as well as our tee times until we know the weather is going to be worth the car trip down there. Thanks.

Went with a few buddies the weekend before Thanksgiving this past year. The weather will be a little chilly down there, but shouldn't be atrociously cold (think 40's to 50's). The ground is typically wet in the Southeast this time of year, but both courses have ample drainage areas on them, so there shouldn't be too many soggy areas. The grass will be dormant, but should still be at a suitable length for playing (you won't have any shitty hardpan lies anywhere).

As for the area, it's kind of tucked into a more rural corner of the state, but there are places to go in nearby Florence, AL. There are a couple breweries, as well as a neat little underground club called The Boiler Room that has a two lane bowling alley, a full bar, and live music. There are some good restaurants in the area as well, but nothing "iconic". Big Bad Breakfast is a great brunch spot to soak up a hangover at, and I think the place we had dinner was called City Hardware, a reasonably priced american restaurant with good food.

The grass will be dormant and there has been a lot of rain in the region over the past few months with little sun. Hopefully the sun comes out and dries out the course for you but it looks like clouds and rain

Far as food Florence is a big small town. Plenty of places to grab a beer or food. Just don’t go looking for a lot of high end restaurants
