Seagulls with handguns? That's pretty euphemistic for
Advanced dinosaurs with macro particle accelerators
Seems like an extrapolation of
Sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads
We said worst, not best
Poking you in the coconut seems pretty tame in comparison.
macro particle accelerator = mass driver?
Not quite that macro.
Rail gun? Gauss gun?
My high school math teacher asked this question once. The context was something like "Let's take the derivative of this function, what's the worst thing that could happen?". As the self-appointed class clown I jokingly said "Well, worst case we all die." And while still scribbling on the blackboard, without turning his attention away from what he was doing, he calmly said in his slightly melancholic voice "Unfortunately, dear u/nthai, there are many things worse than death." Half a moment later he turned, facing us, and as if nothing happened, went on with the class "So! What can we do with the derivative of the function..." If I didn't feel like a real clown before, I surely did after this.
Well I can immediately tell you based on your comment that a fate worse than death would be having parents that named their child u/nthai

Extra junk: Before I install any patch, I always open the patch notes and Ctrl-F for 'supervolcano', 'seagull', and 'garbage disposal', just to be safe.
Don't get it? explain xkcd
I almost beat the turing test! Maybe next year. Sincerely, xkcd_bot. <3
supervolcano seagull garbage disposal
Fuck! Now I gotta change my password.

?
All I see is **********
If written in a language like C with undefined behavior, a buggy patch could cause nasal demons. It doesn't specify whether these will emanate from the nostrils of the programmer who invoked the compiler on that bad code or the person who installed the update containing the output from the compiler, but it's probably better to be safe than sorry.
I was going to say a worse version of the game show would be if they brought the person out in front of you, and you had to look them in the eyes and see their face as you floundered for their name before admitting you'd forgotten. Then I realized that's just ... real life?
Interacting with people face to face was my go-to worst that could happen.
There is an SNL skit of this exact situation.
Me today: So... what was your name? Also, ARE you the one from the office next door?
It didn’t get any less awkward when the language course exam had a field „name of the lecturer for your group“.
Don't you love when the boilerplate stuff about date teacher name, class, etc are harder questions than most of the test questions.
You can often work around saying someone's name by using gestures, eye contact, titles, and pronouns. The game show forces you to come up with the name.
But yeah, having the person in person staring directly at you would be much worse than a picture.
Thank you, Randall, for my new recurring nightmare
In my experience, a changelog is usually as valuable as the log I submitted to the advanced aquatic log deletion system this morning.
It was my job for a while to ask this question to people who maintained servers in our organisation. Because no-one else would.
How big is that well
Rhode Island size
It will hurt the entire time you are dying.
Yeah maybe I could just stick with Windows 7 forever.
Just noticed your username
Instead of a garbage disposal, why not a sarlacc pit where you come face to face with the person whose name you don't remember?
Is it weird that I read the first line as "We should upgrade 'what's the worst that could happen?'"
As if the team was the committee on the worst things ever and it was time to decide what the next #1 worst thing would be.

Bad bot but i can't stay mad at you
Why would a slow nuclear war be worse?
Countdown to software developers sticking "seagull" in their patch notes just to make the reference?
V1.03
Seagulls now spawn with a handgun equipped in the left wing slot

Did you just use your flair as part of a comment?
I never did before, and people never noticed, so I figured it was finally time to close that parenthesis once and for all as a symbolic act, because honestly it does bother me a bit.
Aaargh, now you opened it again!

That'd be be pretty funny. Like 418.
Fun fact: That error is meant to be shown when a command sent through HTCPCP (HyperText Coffee Pot Control Protocol, RFC 2324) is received by a teapot. However, there was an extension to HTCPCP, HTCPCP-TEA (HTCPCP for Tea Efflux Appliances, RFC 7168), which enabled full teapot support. So, if you want to avoid HTTP error 418, make sure to use an RFC 7168-compliant application.
418? The one about bacon?
Haha. No. I was referencing this. It's another silly programming easter egg.
Oh, I thought you meant XKCD 418.
