They’re recording!
Their Instagram just posted a photo of Dan in the studio with the caption “New Jams”! Wonder if it will be an EP or full length. Either way I’m stoked!

Really hope this is an EP! I know another full album would be awesome, but I'm hoping for some more tracks in the vein of ITTC?. I'd love to hear a few songs that maybe didn't make the cut, as well as some newer stuff the guys are making now. Either way, new Trio is always exciting.

But... They didn't even really tour what is arguably one of their best albums to date- ITTC?. Blah. Excited though.

Welllll I don't see this being released or even promoted before the tour with Bad Religion so hopefully they'll play more off ITTC than the three prerelease songs.

I get the feeling that he’s right and Derek isn’t there. Especially since they’re recording in LA and dan posted the photo with the other drummer. And then Matt posted they were at a rehearsal space.

I work as a sound guy in NYC. I recently worked for someone that is well respected in the Chicago punk scene and they happen to be friends with Dan. I was told by this individual that Derek has been kicked out of the band. I politely asked for details and was told that they didn't know if they had the whole story 100% straight so they didn't want to start talking shit. Take that with a grain of salt.
I was also told that the reason behind not making this public was because fans would not accept Alkaline Trio being a duo. As they don't wish to take on any new equal members.
