Weird text message about Step Family Pride of Ontario
My Fiancée got a weird text from some kind of robo-dialer. https://imgur.com/a/VGMmQGb, This is the second time she's gotten this message, as we received another one just last year.
I remember when she first received the message and it being weird, but us just assuming it was actually a wrong number but because we've gotten it twice it seems there might be something else going on here.
When I try to lookup the message in google or some form of it I find a few meme pages with it posted as a joke and almost nothing else. What I did find though was about how a marketing company in Canada was sending robo-dialed messages trying to get information for political marketing. (https://toronto.citynews.ca/2019/06/24/mysterious-group-behind-mass-text-message-seeking-views-on-carbon-tax/). My fiancée also received the Ontario Proud messages when that was sent.
I'm wondering if anyone has any insight into what might be going on here? I have some other findings and research I can share if anyone else has more info. My main theory is that the marketing company behind Ontario/BC Proud, or someone like it may be trying to keep a list of active phone numbers for future marketing use? or some other kind of use?
