Amazing list, thank you!
Thanks for posting links to everything, and also....why do I keep clicking on the links?!?! I can't afford to keep clicking on the links!!!
What is a MOAB? And are the beads prayer beads?
MOAB is the bead from Combat Beads. Silly name, but stands for Mother Of All Beads haha.
The mala beads are for meditation/mindfulness mostly. Also a trinket and fidget thing :)
Is it just for aesthetics? The one linked is $70, which seems somewhat steep for something without practical use if that's the case.
I do the same thing with a rosary, which is I guess why I called them "prayer beads." I'm not catholic, though, and I do it more like you say for meditation/mindfulness. Mine just so happens to be from the church, even if I'm not
It's just a fancy bead made with good materials, machining, and quality. The parts screw together and it can be fun to fiddle with sometime. There are plenty of lanyard beads that you'll see around that are much more costly - like ones made of zirconium and timascus. It helps for pulling from a pocket or pouch, which could be don't with a knot really, but I like the look of it too. I stonewashed it as well :)
I'm with you on the beads. I just like them for focusing and clearing my mind sometimes, but I'm not religious.

Are you a practicing Buddhist
Nope.
Ive been wanting one of those mala bead bracelets, how do you like it ?
It is really thick to use as a bracelet, but as a mindfulness aid/fidget it's pretty nice. They have some cool metal and wood choices 👍
Still a useful tool.
