This is possibly the worst own goal ever.

Just for a bit of context, this own goal relegated City.

If he just hadn't have touched it we'd have been fine.

If this happened recently I would nominate it for Goal of the Year

For further context: Thanks to that own goal you were relegated to Division Two (the third tier of the EPL) – becoming the first former winners of a European trophy to be relegated to the third tier of their domestic league.

For crazy context: Thanks to all that relegation, your eventual promotion back to the top flight in 2001, and the eventual steady stay in the top flight a few seasons later...you eventual were bought by some fairly rich individuals. Lo and behold you are now 2nd in the league.

Jamie Pollock says "You're welcome". ;)

I've seen that goal loads of times, but never knew that. That's incredible.

Question: was he murdered because of it?

If "no," try again.

So when you said 'worst', did you mean 'best'? Any player would be proud of that goal!
